Film and Television ProducerBorn in San Jose, Costa Rica Jay Weisleder started his career in the entertainment industry while working at Sony Music Latino (2003/digital marketing manager and artist relations) in Miami. At Sony, he worked closely with many established, and rising musicians. Weisleder also produced and promoted many live concerts events (Warner Music/Columbia/Sony in 2004-2006), but later transitioned into television while working at Telemundo’s bilingual cable network as a marketing manager, Mun2 (2006). After Telemundo, Mr. Weisleder turned to his ultimate passion, to develop and produce film and television (2007), which led him to the foundation of Fuego Films; an independent production company focused on exploiting worldwide intellectual property rights through scripted and alternative television and film formats. Through Fuego Films, Mr. Weisleder has worked under various productions overall deals with Electus (2010-2013) and Propagate Content (2016-Present) where he provided creative executive services and helped bring in new business development opportunities in the technology media sector. In 2013, Mr. Weisleder launched the scripted department for Propagate Content as well as overseeing Latin America and Spanish speaking territories for Propagate Distribution. On December 2017, CBS ordered BLOOD & TREASURE straight to series, a project Mr. Weisleder was directly involved in the selling, development and current production of the series. Currenlty in preproduction for the second season of the series as well as preparing the production of a new comedy series for POP TV and A&E Studios from the creator of American Pie, Adam Herz’s Best Intentions. Under the scripted division, Mr. Weisleder oversaw over 70 projects in active development, of which 35 have been sold to studios and networks. Mr. Weisleder has lead the negotiations for first look and production agreements with international broadcasters and Propagate Content (partnership with Caracol Television Colombia). In 2013-16, Mr. Weisleder produced and released with The Weinstein Company the feature film “Hands of Stone”, the biopic of Roberto Duran starring Robert De Niro, Ana De Armas, Usher and Edgar Ramirez. Weisleder is currently producing the feature films “Clemente”, the Roberto Clemente biopic with Legendary Pictures, as well as “My Boyfriend’s Meds” with Pantelion Films (Lionsgate) a romantic comedy set in Latin America starring Jaime Camil, Jason Alexander, Brian Baumgartner, and Brooke Shields, released on February, 2020.
