I am an experienced and knowledgeable individual who has worked in the energy industry for 40 years in a number of varied roles. With expertise and experience in leading and managing large commercial departments and customer facing organisations; I have experience of mentoring and coaching a range of individuals. With in-depth knowledge of sales and customer facing processes and organisational structures I am used to dealing with senior decision makers. My interpersonal skills are especially strong.I was a member of the Board of Directors for DONG Energy Sales UK, from May 2012 to April 2015; before that, for Shell Gas Direct from May 2008 until April 2012. An experienced leader/manager used to operating at senior management level over many years. I became a member of the SGD Leadership Team from 2003. My background is in energy sales, operations and customer service and I am used to dealing with a range of companies and disciplines. I led a function of over 40 staff, with 5 direct reports, dealing with large pan-European blue chip customers. Selling gas, power and a range of energy solutions to meet challenging annual targets and responsible for annual revenues of c.£750mln. For a period of 4 months in 2009 and again for 5 months in 2012/13, I assumed the role of Managing Director at DONG Energy Sales UK, covering for the incumbent who was on extended sick leave. I was responsible for all aspects within the company; with 130 staff and a turnover of some £900mln. I have been a Freeman of the City of London since 1994 and am a member of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers Livery Company.I am now working as an independent energy professional seeking a variety of interesting portfolio work, to include mentoring, performance management, business improvements and energy related projects within the industry.
