About Jay Abbott
After starting his career as a builder of clone PCs in the early 90's jay progressed into Systems Administration moving through DOS > Windows > Unix > Linux, followed by Network Engineering with Cisco and Foundry at enterprise/internet scale, before finally finding his niche in the Security space by the early 2000s. That went something like this.... "you know, this global network you built to deliver games to millions of people, it's secure. right?"Having had the opportunity to architect, build and run some of the most significant "at/mega/hyper-scale" infrastructure through the birth of Web 1.0 and the subsequent move to Web 2.0 during the "DotCom" era, Jay was able to work on the cutting edge of the internet, delivering high-speed, secure global gaming platforms to the masses through EA.com and AOL.com. These days, he spends his time working with and advising clients on subjects as broad as; - Secure Architectural Practices & Designs - Secure Development & Operations - Secure Control Architectures - Security Culture and its impact - Digital Transformation Strategies - Cloud Adoption & ImplementationHaving worked for small and large organisations through corporate buyouts, M&A, start-ups and accelerated growth, it made sense that Jay would start applying this knowledge and his technical skill to build and nurture his ventures. Not each was a success, but some were successful enough to sell, and others had merit but not the right growth conditions, while some continue to grow and perform above expectations.
