In my position as Assistant General Manager - CardsMajor Responsibilities:Implementing best practices for the management of total cards issuing and development of banking business (Credit, Debit & Pre-paid) related to Visa, MasterCard, Union Pay & JCB; providing leadership and support to product, marketing, sales, operations, accounting, reconciliation, risk, credit, recoveries, customer service, IT support teams to attain desired outcomes; managing the development of merchant acquiring channels, including Internet Payment Gateways (IPG) and low cost MPOS/QR channels; administering existing co-branding alliances and canvassing new partnerships to the bank; ensuring development of internal staff resources to take up the challenging roles within the bank’s business operation.Key Accomplishments, I attained during this role:• Recognised for growing the credit/debit card portfolios, expanding market shares and increasing overall profitability whilst providing services as Assistant General Manager.• Accomplished targeted goals by conducting large scale business negotiations with government ministries to canvass new e-commerce businesses under national digital roadmap.• Enhanced overall card operations through strategic manual processes automation.

In my position as Head of CardsMajor Responsibilities:Steering all aspects of P&L for bank’s card business (Issuance & Merchant Acquiring) whilst ensuring adherence to standard policies and procedures; Leading the development of merchant acquiring business through existing banks corporate banking customer base; administering Co-brand alliances with leading professional associations / corporates / Schools across Sri Lanka; providing leadership and guidance to Product Managers for the management of respective cards portfolios.Key Accomplishments, I attained during this role:• Launched the premier card range ‘World MasterCard’ and ‘Visa Signature.• Achieved card portfolio net growth of LKR 3.5Bn and an increase of 70,000 cards of the active card base within 48 months by devising and executing robust strategies.• Promoted MPOS/POS merchants through Banks Island wide branch network.• Accomplished targeted goals by establishing product management unit within cards business.• Attained improvement across service levels by re-engineering all business operations processes.
