MBA, Undergone advanced Supply Chain Management course and training at IIM; as well as for Public Relations from XLRI. Started career with Johnson & Johnson Ltd in the marketing domain- had achieved international success at the age of 23. From 1988 has been in the gas field. Had started the marketing department of a state PSU, Assam Gas Company Ltd. Is credited to be the first professional marketer of City Gas Distribution (CGD) in India- had started the CGD in four towns of Assam as also was the brain behind the formation of Tripura Natural Gas Company Ltd in 1990 for city gas supply. At Gas Authority of India Limited, from 1991, saw Jayant heading the Mumbai region Marketing of natural gas and accounting for 25% of GAIL’s total turnover then. Jayant’s biggest success was the launch of Propane Gas in Indian market and is today regarded as one of the domain experts on Propane gas in India. Was a team member for launching CNG in India.In the late nineties, Jayant headed the Bulk LPG business of Reliance Petroleum Ltd wherein the total C4 thruput of Hazira was marketed and sold. From 2001 onwards Jayant has been behind the fuel engineering company, Option Engineering Pvt Ltd (www.optionengg.net) and also the mentor of Giri Logistics (www.girilogistics.com) - the renowned supply chain company specializing in Propane Gas movements. At Option, the total fuel storage systems, both for liquid and gases, is designed, built, erected and commissioned on turnkey basis. From 2009 onwards Jayant is associated with CHART Inc, the global leaders in LNG technology. Jayant represents CHART for its LNG business in India and is directly responsible for its Distribution & Storage division. Jayant is based out of Mumbai where he resides with his Architect wife and adores his two lovely growing-up daughters.Specialties: In the hydrocarbon sector: Propane and LNG.The expertise of Jayant in fuel marketing is recognized by the industry and for this reason either Option Engineering or Giri Logistics are the national marketing associates of companies like IOC, IPPL, DFPCL etc, apart from helping GAIL and CPCL sell their Propane. Jayant has the mandate to sell natural gas from the stranded fields in the Krishna- Godavari basin from associated wells drilled under NELP by reputed exploration companies.
