Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for BIOMG 2901: Genetics Lab under Dr. Kristina Blake.

Started a research position in Dr. John Schimenti’s Lab at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. My project involves uncovering the impact of genomic instability on embryonic development. I successfully established a stable cell line of mTSC (mouse Trophoblast Stem Cells) cells that expressed the dCas9-KRAB protein, that will be used for the project.

Shadowed Orthopedic Surgery clinic (specifically spinal deformity) and 6-hour Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy surgery under Dr. Michael Chang. Later joined Dr. Svetlana Mihaylova-Todorova's research team as a statistician to research the risks associated with revision spinal fusion surgery in patients 75 and older as compared to 65, along with the difference between primary and revision operations and normal white blood cell count and leukocytosis. Co-authored three abstracts submitted for publication for either the 2024 Scoliosos Research Society Annual Meeting or 2024 North American Spine Society:1. Revision Spinal Fusion in Patients Older than 65: Is it Worth it After 5 Years? 2. Spinal Fusion in Patients ≥ 75 Years Old: Long Term Outcomes vs. Younger Patients3. Does Asymptomatic Preoperative Leukocytosis Influence Outcomes in Patients Undergoing Surgery for Adult Spinal Deformity: a 2-Year Follow-Up

Shadowed surgical and non-surgical ICU under Dr. Aaron Skolnik, in-patient oncology under Dr. Parminder Singh, and geriatrics and primary-care with Dr. Rajal Mehta through Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science's Education Visitor Program. Also assisted Dr. J. Michael Bostwick and his medical students at the Alix School of Medicine in determining the psychological effects of first year anatomy course on medical students. Completed all statistical analysis for the project. Manuscript in progress.

Assisted in the administration of clinical trials and research at HonorHealth Research Institute. My responsibilities included providing data management project support for clinical research trials in an activation stage and active stage, including patient pre-screening for study eligibility in Epic, support for data submission and records clinical information in case report forms. Worked on two research projects pending publication with Dr. Justin Moser regarding the efficacy of new treatment for Acral Lentiginous Melanoma and Cutaneous Squamos Cell Carcinoma. Shadowed Dr. Frank Tsai in out-patient oncology and helped him develop a new software that is attempting to improve the efficacy and accuracy of pre-screening and matching patients with Phase 1 clinical trials.

After establishing and running my high school's table tennis club, I moved on to lead Arizona State University's Sun Devil Table Tennis club. As club president, I organized meetings, training sessions, and singles, and doubles tournaments. Other responsibilities included running the club's social media account and renting the ASU gym for events. I also work with the ASU Competition Team to recruit advanced players and raise funds for competitions. I have developed my leadership skills by managing a club with over 400 members and introducing and training new players to the sport of table tennis.

Assisted graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in Developing DNA nanostructures with the help of regular molecular biology tools. The project I am currently responsible for is the synthesis of ssDNA using glyoxal, which will be used to create a nano-spring used to measure the force exerted by myosin to eventually treat hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. My research involves performing PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, dephosphorylation with Antarctic Phosphatase, ligation, and glyoxylation reactions. I also gained experience purifying DNA samples, creating, running, and interpreting agarose gels, and checking DNA concentration with NanoDrop.

HPC is a student-led organization aiming to prepare students to move toward a clinical career. As an officer, I assisted our leadership team in sharing knowledge, resources, and opportunities among HPC members so they may be better equipped to obtain and explore future careers and schooling in the healthcare field and research. I organized to have a physician guest speaker at our Women in STEM banquet. I helped direct meetings such as the end-of-semester team building review session and helped reorganize the budget in order to reduce club membership costs.

I assisted Dr. April Miller in teaching her HON 171: The Human Event Course—an interdisciplinary seminar-based course focused on examining human thought and philosophical ideas throughout history—at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. My responsibilities included assisting students in writing papers, leading in-class discussions, creating essay prompts, and holding office hours for one-on-one student mentorship. Furthermore, I also graded student "Discussion Board Posts", provided feedback on assignments, and enhanced and graded participation.
