Structural Engineer
CurrentAs a Structural Engineer at CSIR-NAL, I specialize in the structural analysis and design of aerospace components, focusing on the SARAS-MkII aircraft's flight control systems. My role involves applying advanced engineering principles and tools to ensure the structural integrity and performance of critical aircraft components. Key Responsibilities: Structural Analysis: Perform detailed structural analysis of flight control systems, including the Aileron Circuit. Utilize Strength of Materials (SOM) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to estimate link loads, validate results, and determine the Margin of Safety. Stiffness and Performance Evaluation: Assess the stiffness of control systems through FEA to calculate load and deflection values. Recommend design improvements to enhance system performance and reliability Design and Modelling: Lead the conceptual design, 3D modelling, and detailed design of mechanical linkages and control components. Prepare comprehensive technical drawings for various aircraft systems, including Control Columns, Quadrants, and Push-Pull Rods. Integration and Documentation: Develop detailed designs for the Elevator Trim Tab and Balance Tab Control Systems, including cable routing and structural brackets. Ensure that all designs meet aerospace standards and are accurately documented.
