About Jay Armstrong
A highly experienced creative consultant with a background in photography, writing, events, education, brand creation and development, and publishing. Over the last 20 years I have built an active network of artists, illustrators, designers, and writers across the UK and in the US and have collaborated on projects that include setting up literary festivals, hosting talks, courses and workshops. Focus has been on the concept of ‘Nature and Story’, creating and publishing to date five editions of Elementum, an illustrated non-fiction literary journal of new writing about the natural world.As a visiting lecturer, speaker and coach I particularly enjoy helping people and organisations develop creatively. When working with companies and other organisations, I have a track record of bringing concepts and brands to life and setting in place plans that deliver a vision.

Founder, commissioner and publisher of Elementum, an illustrated literary journal of new writing about the natural world. To date, five editions published with an international readership across 35 countries (mostly UK and US) and a circulation of over 25,000. The highly engaged readership feeds back regularly on the impact of the journal with one reader encapsulating the essence of the publication: "Elementum is a rare creature – a place of peace with a heart and soul."The journal won the Stack Magazine Readers Award in 2019. It has been one of the best sellers at the Tate Modern bookshop.
