I work as the Executive Director of the South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs), a Hyderabad-based non-profit dedicated to fostering water-secure and climate-resilient ecosystems and communities across South Asia through action research, education & capacity building, grassroots-level implementation, and supporting networks for collaborative actions and policy advocacy.I hold a PhD in Integrated and Ecosystem-based Water Resources Management from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal (a Research Centre of Forest Research Institute-FRI University, Dehradun). I have certifications in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Framework and Metrics; GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards; Life Cycle Assessment; Carbon and Water Footprints; ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (Lead Auditor); and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (Lead Auditor).Water remains a subject close to my heart and the core of my professional life. With a cumulative professional and research experience of over 18 years in natural resources management, climate change, and sustainability, I have worked with environmental consultancies, international developmental organizations, academic and policy research institutions, and rural community-based organizations. My professional assignments have spanned across South Asia and Africa regions, showcasing my diverse experience.My areas of interest encompass vulnerabilities, climate justice, climate action, adaptation, and water. Currently, I lead an action research project focused on understanding gendered climate change vulnerabilities in the Sundarbans, India. Additionally, I lead the SaciWATERs team, contributing to a regional project as a knowledge & policy advocacy partner focused on coastal resilience building in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. I am also actively involved in initiatives aimed at providing and institutionalizing safe water for water-marginalized urban poor as a human right in the context of climate change vulnerabilities.

In my role with SaciWATERs, I lead a South Asia regional project focused on building coastal resilience in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. SaciWATERs serves as a knowledge partner in this initiative, providing essential policy advocacy support, with backing from BMZ and the Global Nature Fund. Currently, I am spearheading an action research project that aims to understand climate change and gendered vulnerabilities, while identifying adaptation solutions for local communities in the Sundarbans, India. This project is supported by the Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA), South South North (SSN), and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). Additionally, I take the lead in initiatives that emphasize the importance of providing safe water as a human right for water-marginalized urban poor communities, particularly in the context of climate change vulnerabilities. In my role overseeing the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainable business portfolio, I assists businesses in developing strategies to integrate sustainability considerations into their operations. -
