With the Digital Services team I was able to combine two of my life long passions: great design and serving the needs of our underprivileged populations. KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS• Brought user-centered design to the HSA IT department by conducting user experience interviews across the HSA to discover how the agency intranet might be re-imagined to better meet user needs.• Designed the new HSA intranet site from the ground up, including 50+ mock-ups for five content types and 20+ unique site components/user-centered features.• Created the syllabus and designed all the training materials for the CMS training course aimed at new content authors on the HSA Drupal 7 website. The final deliverables included a seven lesson curriculum and a corresponding 68 page training deck.RESPONSIBILITIES• Creating custom graphics, logos, color combinations, and other branding elements for HSA IT, admin, and programs.• Designing online forms, web pages, SharePoint sites, and custom web applications for the HSA IT as well as programs.• Translating complicated program processes into succinct and visually appealing Visio workflow diagrams.• Project managing the development team to meet goals as well as serving as the primary customer interface.• Generating reports, compiling statistics, designing data tables, preparing infographics, and combining all of these elements into stellar PowerPoint presentations for upper management and program stakeholders.

Upon my return to the States I was humbled to be invited back to Arends Construction in an expanded role with increased responsibilities. As Jr. Project Manager my responsibility increased in the upholding of our company goals: bringing the maximum amount of sustainability possible to our construction projects through the aggressive re-use of materials, the incorporation of green building techniques and the appropriate use non-toxic materials and green technology. I was blessed with the opportunity to work on sustainable development in the developing world as the Joining Hands San Francisco/UMAVIDA Bolivia International Facilitator. I was the primary communications contact and web developer for these two networks of ecumenical non-profits dedicated to ending poverty and hunger and resorting environmental sustainability.Over my year in Bolivia I:‣ Designed and developed a 70+ page website coordinating the activities of eight NGO groups.‣ Managed four international projects aimed at combating poverty and hunger in the developing world.‣ Led an international coordinating team tasked with developing a multinational strategy between the two networks.‣ Developed and maintained a focused, working partnership between the networks.‣ Served as the primary English/Spanish translator and communications link between the Bolivian and US non-profits.‣ Reported progress on on-going projects to international stakeholders.
