As a special project to the CEO role at Mealco, a well-funded food-tech seed stage startup in New York, I was able to further develop my leadership skills within Business Development. By kickstarting the brand partnerships team, I was able to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders (Ops, Leadership, Legal, Culinary, Marketing) to close deals with multiple strategic food brands that will serve as a platform for GMV growth.

As a summer intern at SmoothieBox, an e-commerce, healthy smoothie delivery startup, I was able to contribute in multiple ways. Developing the value proposition and go-to market strategy for the wholesale business model made me expand my skillset in new business line creation and project management. Similarly, I put into practice my execution and sales skills while leading co-branding initiatives to partner up with complementary products such as Vega Coffee. Through cross-selling, we expected Vega Coffee and other partners to generate over XXX high quality leads to SmoothieBox.

With two locations currently, Energym has grown to become a well-known, highly reputable brand within the Costa Rican fitness scene. Even though as a founder the number of projects led have all provided me with significant learnings, please find a list below of some of the highlights and projects from which I learned the most:• Hired and managed a cross-functional team of seven direct reports and oversaw 50 indirect full-time employees including admin personnel, fitness instructors, and customer success agents• Negotiated and managed strategic partnerships with brands such as Gatorade, Rexona and Saucony to increase additional revenue streams for Energym by over $XX,XXX monthly and boost partners' brand awareness• Secured exclusive distribution rights of high-quality fitness equipment and brands such as Pavigym, Hoist, Stages, Escape and Intenza; selling to social clubs, local gyms, boutiques, and direct to consumer's homes.
