He/him, 21, Halifax, NS. 4th year Bachelor of Commerce student at Saint Mary’s University with a major in Economics. Current GPA is 4.20Currently the Co-President of the Sobey School of Business Commerce Society. With the society, I lead a team of 22 students where we prepare, promote, and run workshops and networking events for the benefit of SMU Commerce students. Previously was the Communications Director for the Society, with tasks such as writing an informative weekly newsletter for an audience of over 800, and using outlook to send professional email to SMU faculty and companies.Currently working as a Teaching Assistant for SMU economics courses. Previously was a TA for Finance 1. Main task is to grade students assignments and offer helpful feedback to students. On occasion, I would run Oral tests with students and invigilate exams.Worked as a Client Services Officer for Service Canada in the 2022 and 2023 summer. In 2022 my main tasks included: Providing answers to questions from clients, registering clients at the welcome zone, and processing social insurance numbers. My 2023 summer included all of these tasks, along with serving clients for all services offered, including Passport, EI, and CPP applications.This job has given myself many useful training courses, such as:-Identity Management-Dealing with Difficult and Distressed Clients-Security 101-Information Management 101-Indigenous Awareness Learning -Values and Ethics foundations for Employees-Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace for EmployeesI have also attended training courses on my own time such as:- Excel Level 2 - Yellow BeltPrevious work experience as a fisherman for four consecutive years in the summer. My most relevant work experience was the government-level documentation of the weight, length, gender, etc, of every salmon that was harvested.
