As the Council Coordinator of the Special Interest Council within the University at Buffalo's Student Association, my role includes managing all clubs which employ "educational, social, cultural or recreational approach to look at various religious, political and social justice organizations," (Special Interest Council Consitition, 2019). Additionally, I plan events for, disperse funds to, and advocate on behalf of 20+ clubs within my council. Practicing viewpoint neutrality is a key aspect in my role, as the many clubs within this council exercise political, religious, and social backgrounds of all natures.

As a student assistant in the Orientation, Transition, and Parent Programs office at UB, am able to extend my knowledge and resources as a former Orientation Leader and current student to incoming students and their families as they make the transition into a four-year university. Organization and strong customer service skills have been key to my success as a student assistant in an office which welcomes over 4,000 new students each year.

As an education abroad student with Amideast, I've had the opportunity to live in Morocco, sharpen my French, learn two dialects of Arabic, take courses in my second language, and engage in cross-cultural understanding while living with a host family. Amideast has also given me the opportunity to volunteer and teach English at a youth center in Rabat.

I represented the University and guided new members of the UB community in their transition to college, including first-year students, their parents, and family members. In this experience, I've gained skills in team working, large-scale event coordination, and communicating with groups of many diverse people at a time. As a successful member of my team, I employed acute attention-to-detail and active listening skills by learning the stories of hundreds of new students and making them feel valued by remembering them.

As an Undergraduate Student Association Senator, I successfully campaigned for a seat on the 12-student Senate to represent over 20,000 undergraduate students. Throughout the academic year my colleagues and I held the responsibility of approving the Student Association’s annual budget of over $4 million. I also voted with my colleagues on the Senate's distribution of grants to Student Association clubs from our discretionary line of $13,000, and I worked with our team as the sole body to recognize the legitimacy of SA organizations, creating a fun, safe, and efficient UB community.
