Engineering Sr Manager
CurrentAfter 5 years, I suppose I should have something to put here...Managed a team of engineers responsible for 3 different distribution facilities (Lenexa, KS, Reno, NV, and Spanish Fork, UT). As I tell our new trainees each year, our work is divided into 4 P's: Project Management, Productivity & Standards, Process Improvement and Poster Printing (honestly, our plotter sees more facility posters than layout prints). The main three aspects of the job haven't changed since I started here (see below, not updated to fit with this). I have continued to do this work alongside my team while also coaching them to handle projects on their own.We have completed multi-million dollar facility relayouts (new conveyors & workstations, modifying product flow, etc) as well as studying processes and developing new/revised work standards. Currently (2015) working through a new pilot process (new processes, layouts and standards) to once again improve product flow between Supply Chain and Retail stores.I also have taken on management of the Supply Chain capital budget. Tasks include setting up the projects/tasks in Oracle to track the accounting, approving capital purchase orders (within my limits, approx 80% of all capital PO's), and tracking actual spend compared to allocated funds to determine how to stretch the dollars further to squeeze in non-budgeted projects. At a local level I also lead my team, maintenance and operations in identifying high necessity or high ROI projects to pursue for future budgets, then executing the projects once approved.
