Resident Physician
CurrentAs a combined Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine resident, I am in training to be a "general physician" for adults, inpatient and outpatient, with an emphasis on public health and prevention of diseases & conditions. Responsibilities of the modern physician include diagnosing, treating, coaching, educating, collaborating, leading, advocating, supporting, and providing compassion. The roles of both doctors and hospitals are many, and the responsibilities have both grown significantly over time and face increasing time and financial pressures. It is my hope and intention to complete this phase of my training with an understanding of the pressures faced by community hospitals and patients in those areas, as well as the potential policy changes which could alleviate barriers to care for patients and burdens which cause provider burnout or damage the physician-patient relationship. The employees at Griffin Hospital, from janitorial staff through physicians, seek to create a comfortable, safe, healing environment for the patients who rely on us for their care.
