The majority of my duties revolve around using a bespoke suite of web GIS software to produce maps. I work in collaboration with partner organisations such as the Rural Payments Agency and the European Union making maps that meet their defined standards. I manipulate digital data so that I’m able to validate geospatial resources, manage different data sets, and identify features so the maps I produce can be distributed to the appropriate parties.

During a summer break whist I was at university I started working as a personal grounds keeper for an elderly lady. I cleared out her woodland and brought her fields back to a habitable status. As the workload became more weighted maintenance focused, I earnt more respect and trust from my employer. Thus my responsibilities evolved to include; looking after animals, setting up poultry pens, repairing machinery, and personal chauffeuring.

A standard daily newspaper delivery run that I did whist in studying at sixth form up until going to university. I was dedicated and didn’t miss a day or take any holidays until my final weeks with NWN Media. Additionally I adapted my routes to be less convenient for me but better for the customers. Worked on an ad-hoc basis for a local amusement ride company. Traveling to various events and operating stalls and rides aimed to younger children. Involved in setting up and taking down the company’s assets. Ensured that rides were safe and in working conditions. Handled cash from customers and resolved arguments/difficulties as they occurred.

Worked at the local rugby club with the title of glass collector. Mainly making sure that there was a constant flow of glasses during matches and other events. Also aimed to alleviate pressure from the actual bar staff though general busy work and cleaning.
