Being a long-time musically obsessed “superfan”, Jay has formed a keen sense of how tomarket to and serve the fans. He has spearheaded new products, projectmanagement, and driven fan-focused initiatives for artists such as Veruca Salt, BarenakedLadies, Sloan, the Presidents of the United States of America, Letters to Cleo, Blake Babies,10,000 Maniacs, Mindy Smith, John Oates, Carbon Leaf, and Jars of Clay.In an artist management role, Jay continues to work on the management teams for bands such as American Hi-Fi, Sloan, Letters To Cleo, Superdrag, and more.In 2021, Jay realized a lifelong goal when he founded the boutique record label Propeller Sound Recordings with co-founder, Jefferson Holt. In 2024, the Propeller Sound team launched a new division with Propeller Sound Services. Jay and his team brought 20+ years of experience under this new branch of artist, label, and manager services. Jay rounds out his time teaching music business to both college students and musicians alike.He teaches Music Marketing and Music Business courses to a new era ofmusic business students for Berklee Online.
