Jayd Donna Davis is a highly committed and a passionate educator with 7 years of experience in education. I began my career in education as a primary school teacher at Calvary Christian College where I taught Natural Science and Technology and Life Skills to Grade 4 -6 learners. I subsequently moved to Voorbrand Primary School, teaching at Foundation Phase level, where I taught Grade 3 learners the four core subjects. In addition to teaching grade 3 learners the four core subjects, I served and continue to serve as a district Lead teacher. After spending almost 2 years at Park Junior School teaching Grade 2 learners, I am currently a Head of Department in the foundation phase where I oversee all grades from Grade R-3. I hold the following qualifications, namely, a bachelor's degree in psychology, Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), BEd honours in Education policy and democracy, and a Master's degree in Curriculum policy evaluation, all from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). These qualifications are a demonstration of my research abilities as well as my perseverance and resilience to complete them.During the past 7 years I have coached netball and chess to primary school learners. In addition, I have been the co-ordination of the feeding scheme where the school fed more than 200 historically disadvantaged learners daily. I strongly believe that effective teaching creates a community of future leaders. I have also learned that teaching at disadvantaged government schools (where learners come from impoverished backgrounds) that caring is what the disadvantaged learners need. I continue to shower disadvantaged learners with care by forming positive relationships with them and I endeavour to support them, find their dreams and strengths so that they can believe in themselves the way she believes in them.I have volunteered to various organisations over the years and continue to support all learners including those who are in high school and help them to apply to tertiary institutions whenever I have free time. Moreover, I have a deep seeded passion for her learners and the various subjects across foundation phase. I enjoy inter-grating various methodologies in the classroom environment when facilitating teaching and learning.
