This role comprised of safe handling and detonation of highly explosive ammonium nitrate fuel oil (ANFO) in a dynamic/ever changing and busy work atmosphere. My charge was the safety of not only those around me, but my colleagues in and near our operations. Every facet of the position fell under the regulation of the federal government ATF and it was required on a daily basis to ensure federal regulations were adhered to. Our paper and electronic reporting systems were routinely scrutinized for efficiency and accuracy. As blaster in charge, the responsibility of magazine storage requirements and inventory was added to our responsibilities.

Production Tech / Dispatcher / Step-Up Foreman

Directly supervised all aspects of overburden and coal haulage and logistical movement of over 50 team members for day-to-day operations; including coordination of all large equipment operators in conjunction with blasting regulations and air quality control, including the development of daily shift assignments, equipment lineup, collaboration with maintenance department for all equipment repairs. Interact with the plant, particularly during the introduction period of the Theissen-Krupp manufactured coal crusher system. Liaison to Burlington Northern and Santa Fe railroad companies in role as Dispatcher. Responsible for the coordination of all train lineups with, as well as collaboration with fulfilling contractual coal and air quality standards with multiple railroad schedules. Derived organizational format for personnel development plans, including, but not limited to personnel development and implementation of new production capabilities and pit improvements. 13 years of heavy equipment operating experience in open pit mining operations. Utilized an employee lineup spreadsheet delegating tasks by categorized seniority and equipment assignments to implement the pit engineering plan. Track employee development and training qualifications, update employee competency folders annually. Certified on Caterpillar 797 and 793 Haul Trucks, Terex 5500 Haul Truck, Komatsu 850E Haul Truck, Caterpillar 690D and 854G rubber tire dozer, and 637G Scraper.
