Jayde Speedie Email and Phone Number
From a young age I have always liked computers, I remember building my first one at 16, I was so excited to put everything together myself, even though I had no idea how to go about it, luckily YouTube was there and a million different tutorials, and so began my self-motivated research into the computer world learning of new hardware, different software and eventually into programming and security where my interest has peaked and lead me down the path of studying Cyber Security with Deakin. Before arriving at Deakin, I studied at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) majoring in Games Design, here I developed many of my analytical, project management, and basic programming logic skills which have helped me in many different aspects of my career, but more on that later. It was at the end of my second year where I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with the Institute for Intelligent Systems Research (IISRI) as an intern. Through my work there I was able to apply many of the skills I learnt through my studies in order to help manage a small team as well as be the main point of contact between AIE and IISRI.When I decided to move away from perusing the games development industry professionally to more of a hobby, I though how can I translate the skills that I have learnt into an every day job, at the time I had a job in sales for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and after speaking with a colleague it was evident that I had been using many of my analytical skills in each and every conversation with potential students. By analysing their needs, I could not only help them personally by finding a suited program for them but I was often liaising with the marketing team to help them with their targeted adds, helping answer the questions of how do we appeal to those who need a certain qualification.Moving forward in my career I am striving towards computer security; my privacy means the most to me so learning new techniques to keep myself and my data safe holds high priority to me. Throughout my studies I intend to look for other opportunities to further develop my skills and intertest in cyber security.
