I worked for The Body Shop cosmetics from 2010 to 1016. I worked with some of the best leaders I have ever met. I was hired as an assistant manager and got promoted to my own store 6months later. I was very passionate about the company and what it’s purpose was in helping the community and how it would encourage to connect with the community to help educate others. We just didn’t sell beauty products for profit. We educated our clients how they were made and the community it helps. We just didn’t build baskets for a sale, we connected with our customers to help solve their skincare concerns. As a shop manager I did a touch base with my team and asked for their opinion on how to drive business and also asked them about their personal goals. As a shop manager I created a system to help them achieve their goals and kept track of their testing days and by doing so my teams performance improved. The business was down 20% and we made up that deficit within 2 years. I made sure to network within the mall and hosted fashion shows to drive the business. We as a team cleaned up the beaches, participated in the breast cancer walk, Alzheimer’s walk, the barking lot, MANA de San Diego for battered women and girls scouts. Educating everyone about the products and community fair trade and how they can help protect the environment is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job. I truly believe that a business with a purpose to DO GOOD, & LOOK GOOD while doing so. To be DARING & DIFFERENT.
