The history of vivek Engineering Works goes back to 1974 when Mr. Maruti Laxman Sawant, the founder of the company, gained much of his machining experience working at Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. Starting in at the company as lathe operator, Mr. Sawant made the effort to earn knowledge in machine shop. As a lathe operator he clearly recalls the days of working with manually operated lathes to produce tight-tolerance components.Over a period of fourteen years Mr. Sawant worked his way up to gain knowledge in machine tool division. With the experience of fourteen years he contributed several innovative machining concepts which are still in use today in our shop.With two children and barely two nickels to rub together, he purchased a small used conventional lathe and started his own companyAs Vivek Engineering Works began its 30 years of operation, the Company employed over 40 people and had more business booked than at any other time in its history. With a strong infrastructure, a highly flexible manufacturing processes, and the ability to continually increase its capacity Vivek Engineering Works is well positioned for continued growth.After spending most of time in fine-tuning our internal policies and processes with the goal of eliminating as much waste as possible, we anticipate that every year will be an exceptional year. We are receiving more solicitations than ever before.After some internal re-organization, the company is off to a great start with more RFQ’s than ever before. Many new doors have been opened to us. Combining our technology and business opportunities with their professional experience, we anticipate reaching new levels of growth.
