In 2018, I started my first job at highland Howies as a dishwasher. This job allowed me to gain a better understanding of how the food industry works when it comes to jobs. I did have a little background going into it first though because I was in culinary arts in high school where I learned many skills such as knife skills, satiation skills, creativity and confidence in the kitchen and etc... After working at Highland Howies for 4 years I gained many skills such as team player, stock management, health code requirements, customer needs assessments, and guest Inquiries. After working there in the summer of 2022 this year I started to pick up shoe selling and did that most of the summer to gain a little bit more knowledge in how self-employment would work and run my own little business selling shoes and clothing.
