Let’s face it, I’m 51! I’ve worked for most of my life across almost every aspect of the creative spectrum. I’ve been successful, I’ve won awards, I’ve earned great money, and have enjoyed a stellar reputation in the industry. So, I must have a story right? You bet I do!After studying Film and Television Production and Sound Engineering, I initially carved out my career in the music industry. As a professional musician, composer, and engineer, I worked with many top artists including Hunters and Collectors, Crowded House, 1927, and Margaret Urlich, before finally earning a reputation as one of Sydney’s top cocktail pianists.I turned my attention to the visual realm in the late nineties and focused on design and film production in broadcast, corporate, and advertising. I was the creative force behind major campaigns including TVC’s, online, social media, and print. In the corporate and commercial sectors, I produced corporate videos, interviews, events, presentations, press releases, social media, web content, and graphic design. I was also Executive Producer of the children’s animated series Buzz Bumble screened nationally on the NINE Network. Then in 2017, I got the Flu.Yep, the common, every-day, run-of-the-mill, Flu: Type A - which attacked my heart. Just 24 hours after diagnoses, I was given 48 hours to live. The following day I was put on full life-support and placed in a coma, during which time I was fitted with an artificial heart, but not before I died... well, at least for a little while. That mechanical heart did its job and I woke up several weeks later. Next challenge: a heart transplant. While on the machine, I refused to be defined by my condition. Just six months after waking from my coma and learning to walk and talk again, I climbed Mt Kosciuszko from the bottom. I ran the City 2 Surf to raise money for The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. I also completed the 28km, 7 Bridges Walk to raise money for The Cancer Council. All of this was done while wearing my heart, LITERALLY, on my sleeve!436 days later, I received the most precious gift of a new heart from a beautiful stranger. It’s now been more than three years since transplant - and it’s been a busy time. I founded two non-profit organisations and became a passionate ambassador for causes and organisations ‘close to my heart’.Creativity is at the very core of my DNA. I eat, sleep, and breathe it. I am a highly positive and social person with an outstanding work ethic and a passion for storytelling in any format.
