Design Leader with over two decades of experience in industrial design and user experience delivering exceptionally useful and delightful physical and digital experiences.As a Lead Designer I have cultivated a broad set of skills across multiple design disciplines from user industrial design to user interface. My knowledge and experience dive deep into the areas of consumer electronics, professional audio, IoT, wearables, and medical equipment. I love working on the edge of what's possible now and beyond. The joy for me is when I get to take complexity or competing needs and reduce them into intuitive solutions that are exceedingly simple, refined, and beautiful. As a Director and Manager it has been my joy to mentor and guide some phenomenal team members through life and career. My method for creating an exceptional team is built on listening, serving, and setting an example of excellence. I value clear communication, encouragement, and investing in people both personally and professionally. I work extremely hard to create environments where positivity, trust, and hard work is tempered with fun, friendship, and rewards.As an Entrepreneur I have launched and managed two successful companies - a small consumer brand born of Kickstarter success (Nice, Inc.), and a product consulting firm, James Arthur Young Design, which I ran for 11 years.
