I started in the construction industry working on a roofing labor crew. While working that job, I learned what it meant to give your all to your work. On a roofing labor crew, no room exists for a team member who slacks off and is not committed to helping their team members accomplish their tasks. Those hot summer days taught me to be team-oriented, one hundred percent committed, and constantly striving to get the job done better. In my next job as an Operational Manager for 1st American Roofing Company, I was able to bring all of those skills to bear from a managerial point of view. At 1st American Roofing, I successfully managed the fundamental processes that made the company function. These processes included meeting with building inspectors, insurance representatives, subcontracting crews, and customers. I contacted cities to pull permits, created customer contracts, and communicated with material suppliers. While working as a Project Manager at Roof Vets, I managed the successful construction of over one hundred roofing systems. In this position, I frequently managed safety conditions, insurance claims, active worksites, procurement orders, subcontracting crews, and contract signings. I frequently met with insurance representatives, held conference calls, and managed customer relationships. These interactions have left me with excellent skills in communication, coordination, organization, problem-solving, conflict resolution, training, and sales. I am confident in my ability to use these skills in any professional situation I find myself in. My main goal when working for a company is always to bring everything I have so that I give and get as much out of the opportunity as possible.I am now thrilled to be working with PCL Construction in Denver, Colorado, as a Field Engineer. Every day, I leverage my education, past experiences, and connections to tackle exciting challenges in a dynamic environment. PCL provides abundant opportunities for growth and learning, and I am constantly supported and inspired by my project team. I eagerly anticipate the growth and development that lie ahead at PCL.
