Reporting to Vice President (Maintenance), No. of Direct Reportees: 9 Nos., my Responsibilities/ Nature of Work is: • Ensuring scheduled and unscheduled offline Vibrations and Bearing Temperatures Monitoring of Rotary Machines like High-Speed Multistage Pumps, Compressors, Blowers, Fans, Motors, Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines and Gear Boxes in Urea, Ammonia, Power Plant, Utilities and offsite.• Online Vibrations and Bearing Temperatures monitoring of Critical Rotary Machine on Bentley Nevada Machine Monitoring System – MMS System-1.• Reviewing and analyzing Vibration Velocity, Acceleration, Spectrum and Waveforms data and reporting the critical observations to concerned Operations and Maintenance Departments.• Maintaining Data Base of Rotary Machines with Software Based Pruftechnik VibExpert-II Vibration Analyzer. • Visual Inspection, Thickness and Hardness Measurement, Thermal Monitoring of Refractory Walls and Temperature Monitoring of Primary Reformer Catalyst Tubes.• Coordinating with Maintenance and Production Department for appropriate action based on Condition Monitoring.• Providing Class Room Training and On-the-Job Training to engineers and technicians with overall Supervision of Condition Monitoring activities for Rotary as well as Static Equipments.• Set up of Condition Monitoring Program, Inspection Procedures/SOPs, Preparation and implementation of Inspection Schedules for Rotary Machines, Static Equipments and Piping. • Establishing inhouse Condition Monitoring/ Inspection department by assessing the requirement and coordinating for recruitment of Manpower, purchasing NDT instruments and hiring contract services. • Daily work allocation to Quality Engineers for monitoring critical inspection activities and supervision of contractors and PMC inspection activities.• Overall handling of all Quality related activities for LSTK and Non-LSTK Project works for Ammonia Plant, Urea Plant, Captive Power Plant and other Offsite and utilities.

Reporting to Head of Department (Mechanical) my Responsibilities/ Nature of Work was: • Set up of Condition Monitoring Program/ Inspection Department by making Inspection Schedules, Preparation of Inspection Procedures and Contracts line-ups. • Ensuring data collection, analysis and record keeping of vibrations and bearing temperature data as per schedule.• Reviewing vibration data (both online and offline) and reporting the critical observations to concerned Operations and Maintenance Departments.• Providing Class Room Training and On-the-Job Training to Local Staff for Condition Monitoring activities for Rotary as well as Static Equipments.• Shutdown Inspection of Static Equipments like Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Primary & Secondary Reformer.• Welding inspection during maintenance by Inspecting Fit-up, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Test, Final Weld Visual Inspection, Reviewing Preheating & PWHT Charts and Radiographic Films Review• Approval of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP/ITP), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Performance Qualification Record (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) for Maintenance Jobs.

Reporting to General Manager (General Engg. and Inspection) my Responsibilities/ Nature of Work was:• Condition Monitoring of Rotary Machines like High-Speed Multistage Pumps, Compressors, Blowers, Fans, Motors, Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Mills, Mixtures and Gear Boxes in Urea, Ammonia, Power Plant, Utilities and Bagging Plant.• In Service and Shutdown Inspection of Static Equipments like Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Primary & Secondary Reformer, Urea Reactors, Columns, Tanks and Piping in Urea, Ammonia, Power Plant, Utilities and Bagging Plant.• Vibration Data Collection, Spectrum Analysis and Maintaining Data Base of Equipments with Software Based SKF Vibration Analyzer and Lube Oil Analysis for critical Rotary Equipments.• Visual Inspection, Thickness and Hardness Measurement, Weep Holes Inspection, Thermal Monitoring of Refractory Walls and Temperature Monitoring of Reformer Tubes.• Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) on Equipments using tools like Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) & Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of Equipments Failure using 5Why Analysis, 5M Analysis and Fish Bone Diagrams.• Coordinating with Maintenance and Production Department for appropriate action based on Condition Monitoring.• Coordinating with NDT agencies/ contractors for shutdown inspection and for Residual Life Assessment (RLA) of process equipments & Piping.• Preparation and Approval of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP/ITP), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Performance Qualification Record (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) for New Projects and Maintenance Jobs.• Inspection and QA/QC in Erection and Fabrication of Process Equipments & Associated Piping in Brownfield Projects by inspection of Welding Fit-up, Root Run Penetrant Test, Final Weld Inspection, Reviewing Preheating & PWHT Charts and Radiographic Films.• Vendor End Inspection of Process Equipments.

• Inspection and Quality Control in Fabrication of Process Equipments like Presser Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns, Tanks, Agitators etc for Soda Ash Plant, Power Plant, Salt and Cement Plant in the Central Workshop producing 1500 MT process equipments per year • Inspection and Quality Control at all fabrication stages like Marking on Plates & Pipes, Cutting, Plate Bending, Welding Edge Preparation, Welding Fit-up, Hydrostatic Testing and Final Inspection and Documentation.• Inspection and Quality control in Fabrication of new Process Equipments in Contractors Fabrication Yards and also during Erection and Piping Fabrication of the same on site.• Improving Quality of Fabricated Equipments and minimizing rework by setting Inspection Procedures, Preparing Formats for Inspection Reports, Training Shop Floor Manpower and QC Engineers for Inspection Activities, Codes & Standards.• Preparation and Approval of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP/ITP), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Performance Qualification Record (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ).• Preparatory Work/ Documentation for successful approval of workshop under Indian Boiler Regulation (IBR– 1950) to carry out various fabrication activities under IBR inspection.• Looking after safety concerns, Job Safety Analysis, Hazards Identifications and Risk Assessment, Presenting Safety Dialogues and Behavior Safety Observations etc.• Presenting Daily Performance Dialogues and improvement strategies including safety talk, Actively participating and motivating shop floor manpower to follow 5‘S’ activities, and maintaining documents for ISO audits.

Reporting to Deputy General Manager (Inspection) my Responsibilities/ Nature of Work was: • Third Party Inspection (Stage-wise and Final Inspection) of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pipes, Tubes, Plates, Valves, Pipe Fittings, Pumps, Blowers, Fans etc. for various Fertiliser, Chemical and Petrochemical companies like KRIBHCO, RCF, TCL, GNFC, CFCL, NFL, GSFC, BPCL, GAIL, IOCL and HPCL etc. • Vendor Evaluation and PDIL Approval for project orders of various items like Pipes, Tubes, Flanges, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Pipe Fittings etc.• Approval of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP)/ Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for Mechanical Items, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Performance Qualification Record (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) for Fabrication of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers & Welded Pipes etc.• Visual Inspection, Dimensional Inspection, Witnessing and certifying various testing like Mechanical Testing, Chemical Testing, Pneumatic Testing, Hydrostatic Testing, Helium Leak Test, Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic testing, Radiographic Films, PMI Testing & IGC Testing etc. of various items at Manufacturer’s Works and Testing Laboratories.• Residual Life Assessment (RLA) of Process Equipments and Pipelines of Urea Plant, Ammonia Plant, Power Plant & Offsite at M/s Kribhco, Hazira by Visual Inspection, Thickness and Hardness Measurement, Penetrant Testing, Radiography Films Review, Ultrasonic Testing, RFET of Tubes, Metallographic Inspection & Hydrostatic Testing.
