I am proud of my Mohawk heritage from Six Nations on my father's side, alongside my European ancestry from my mother's side. While I was not raised on reserve or with my father’s family, I am committed to restoring my relationships with Six Nations and deepening my cultural connection.My academic journey at the University of Waterloo from 2012 to 2022 was transformative, allowing me to discover both my strengths and areas for growth. Throughout my studies, I stayed engaged with both the academic Indigenous community and the broader Kitchener-Waterloo Indigenous community through various part-time roles.As a co-leader of the Indigenous Youth Resilience Project, I helped manage a $117,000 grant during the unexpected challenges of the pandemic. This project focused on land-based learning, food sovereignty, and empowering youth leadership within the region.Currently, I hold several roles, including part-time professor at Conestoga College, consultant, part-time Registered Massage Therapist, and secretary on the Board of Directors for the White Owl Native Ancestry Association (WONAA). These roles allow me to continue my work in service of my community and contribute to meaningful change.Certifications:
