I have had a variety of careers, each different but each experience has allowed me to expand my capabilities and be better equipped to handle challenges encountered in a changing work environment. With 13 years experience as an internal auditor and budget and forecast accountant for a government defense subcontractor I realized there was going to be a massive reduction in force and prepared myself for the change. After graduating from school I worked as a registered nurse. Twelve years ago I combined my business and nursing experience and moved into a Quality Business Analyst position in the Quality Improvement Department at a multi-facility hospital system. . I was later promoted to a Clinical Outcomes Auditor position in the Performance Data Management Department.In Health Care, reimbursement is based on quality of care and data proving there is an improvement in care resulting in better patient outcomes. Using my business experience allowed me to create Excel Macros to extract data from multiple reports and automate final reports for each facility and the system as a whole to track progress in improvement initiatives.
