I am the Founder and CEO of Melinated Moms. I founded my company out of the need to find community support that was self reflective of the transitions I was experiencing post-divorce. This organization has changed the narrative of motherhood , sisterhood and womanhood on a global scale. Melinated Moms has grown into a global advocacy and community engagement social enterprise for moms and women across the Melinated Spectrum. We incorporate DEI integration methods with race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, culture and language into our community engagement events, workshops and training classes. As an individual, my professional background as a Community Health Nurse forged my relationship with understanding the intersections of public health and marginalized communities. I worked for Callen Lorde Community Health Center where I expanded my clinical experience serving the LGBTQIA+ community and received my introduction to advocacy on the state and federal level. Throughout my career at CL, I was promoted several times, finally ending as a Nursing Operations Manager where I oversaw 50 staff, 2 clinical sites and collaborative work with interdepartmental staff and leadership. Since transitioning into full time work through my company, I have expanded my experience by creating strategic partnerships, leveraged community organizing skills and curated powerful life changing programs for non profit organizations to fulfill and exceed their expectations for social impact with marginalized communities.
