As an academic dean, I served as a liaison between parents and faculty, but was primarily responsible for developing and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment for my middle school students. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to: coordination of student schedules, hosting of weekly "roll call" meetings with faculty, preparation and management of student grade reports, and participation on various division- and school-wide committees.

As a sixth grade Core and Math teacher, my responsibilities included: development and execution of original curriculum designed to challenge students through a variety of learning modalities, connecting students to the community around them whether it be students in other divisions at Crossroads or the world at large, but primarily maintaining a focus on guiding students to reach their full potential as students and human beings.

After my two-year stint at ORRJHS, I served as an English Language Arts teacher at Wells Junior High School in Wells, ME. It was a one-year position in place of a teacher who was away on parental leave. I taught five sections of English Language Arts in a block schedule, including an Honors-level course in collaboration with a department colleague. In addition to my role as classroom teacher, I served as assistant soccer and track & field coach and directed the crew of the school's Spring musical. My time at WJHS, where I held my first full-time classroom teaching position, further cemented my desire to work in the field of education.

I became deeply involved in the culture of ORRJHS as an assistant coach of our soccer and track & field teams and twice served as a chaperon on our week-long Survival program in the mountains on the border of NH/Massachusetts.
