A board-certified diagnostic radiologist for a decade, Dr. Jay Emerson Jones currently serves the patients of Mori, Bean & Brooks in Jacksonville, Florida. Mori, Bean & Brooks has provided radiology services for nearly 45 years and has grown into the area's busiest group of its kind. As one of the practice's highly qualified physicians, Dr. Jay Emerson Jones reads and interprets ultrasounds, mammograms, computerized topography (CT) scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results.He recently received a Maintenance of Certification (MOC) from the American Board of Radiology (ABR).Dr. Jay Emerson Jones began his career at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. While there, he was given early acceptance to medical school. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine in 1997, he relocated to Richmond, Virginia, where he became a resident in diagnostic radiology at the Medical College of Virginia. There, he completed rotations both in diagnostic radiology and in clinical medicine, in order to develop a comprehensive professional expertise.Over the course of his residency, Dr. Jay Emerson Jones stood out as a leader among his peers. He served on the Executive Operations Committee for the Medical College's Department of Radiology and in the final year of his internship, he earned the title of chief resident. Dr. Jones also earned the college's Ellen Shaw de Paredes Breast Imaging Scholar Award, an honor conferred by one of Virginia's top women's health professionals.Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Jay Emerson Jones joined the Virginia practice Williamsburg Radiology, where he served until 2003. At that time, he relocated to Sanford, North Carolina, where he accepted a position with Mid-Carolina Radiology. Dr. Jones continued to move south and in 2005, he arrived in Jacksonville and accepted his current position.
