Jayesh has over 25 years experience in semiconductor R&D and production environment. He has worked with diverse materials and technologies such as GaN light-emitting diodes (LEDs), bismuth telluride thermoelectric devices, SiGe, Ge-based infrared (IR) detectors, and CdTe PV. He has extensive experience in epitaxial growth of Group IV materials by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), processing, material, and electrical characterization.Jayesh heads First Solar’s Semiconductor manufacturing function at the Pillaipakkam, Tamil Nadu facility. He has over 25 years of industry experience in material sciences, manufacturing and semiconductor technology, handling a diverse range of photo-voltaic technologies and processes used in high volume semi-conductor production. He joined First Solar in Perrysburg, Ohio in 2014 and has been in various leadership roles across the company’s manufacturing engineering functions, before relocating to India in 2023. Jayesh holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University. He also holds masters degrees in Materials Science and Engineering, and Chemistry from UCLA, and University of Mumbai respectively.
