Welding Management professional and Welding SME having more than 30 years’ experience in Offshore Oil & Gas, Energy Industry, for FEED and successfully executing complex EPCI projects for Offshore pipelay, marine installations, Yard fabricationWelding Engineering Manager, interfacing with various internal customers like Project Management, Bidding and Proposals, Marine Operations Management (offshore pipelay and installation), Fabrication Yard Operations Management, QA/QC and NDT group, and external customers like Client representatives, discipline managers, Engineering group, consulting and certifying agencies like DNV, TWI etc. Key functional roles and responsibilities:• Lead and manage multinational and multicultural group of Welding Engineers for integrated functioning of the offshore pipelay and installation, yard fabrication• Aligning regional and individual functional goals in line with Organization vision• People and Performance management• Bid stage ITT review, technical clarifications, develop welding budget for pipelines as well as yard fabrication and pipeline lay rates estimation• Operational performance within budget, maintain low repair rates• Cross functional leadership: amongst Welding Engineering, mechanized welding pipeline group (AWS), NDT qualifications, Marine Operations, PMT and QA/QC for a smooth Welding Operation for offshore pipelines and offshore installation campaigns• Coordinate with external consultants like DNV, TWI to perform ECA, including establishing the test program for sour service testing to establish AUT acceptance criteria, justification for the waiver of PWHT etc.• Monitor and manage the welding cost within the budget• Welding R&D and technology development for operational excellence• Metallurgical and welding consultation to various disciplines, including critical welding / materials issues at vendors• SME inputs / auditing of potential new vendors for line pipes, technical audits• Key deliverable to the Project and Operations: Ensure availability of Welding qualification plans wherein welding qualifications are identified, planned and executed in line with Project schedule, duly approved by Client• Develop the pipeline welding procedures in line with bid productivity plan, and manage changes if any through the management of change process• Welding consumables selection, estimation and monitoring during operations
