Valcato Entertainment was formed from a merger of our production company Valcato Live, and our AV and event management team at Valcato AV. Valcato Entertainment produces and manages several touring productions in the UK and Europe, and also provides event management and technical support services to businesses across the country. Our production team also work with several of the leading holiday resort brands in the UK to produce and develop new and exciting entertainment concepts, as well as offering technical, marketing and recruitment support.

After founding Valcato as a sole trader in 2002, I returned after three years away from the business to lead its incorporation and overhaul the accounting and administrative side of the business.

I was part of the management team at a unique leisure concept named 'City Limits', an all-in-one entertainment destination housing a 24 lane bowling alley, video arcade and adult gaming centre, Bar & Grill dining offer and 'First Base' sports and live music bar. In addition, City Limits housed a conferencing and events venue and board room available for external hire. My day to day duties involved management of 20 team members, duty complex management and a secondary training and development role.

As Duty Complex Manager I was responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of all of the departments on a busy seaside holiday resort. Directly accountable to the Operations Manager I was responsible for compiling daily performance reports to ensure all departments met operational SQIs as well as being a point of contact to resolve any issues raised by guests during their break.

On a daily basis I was responsible for provision of induction and manual handling training for up to 30 employees. The home entertainment warehouse made heavy use of temporary agency staff to cope with busy periods, all of which were required to complete a full induction course and on-job training package before working unaccompanied. Along with a team of trainers, I was responsible for designing and implementing on and off-job training and refresher courses for all areas of the business.
