As Managing Director of the NCFTA's New York Office, I help drive the critical mission of supporting organizational cyber readiness and resilience among our 200+ global financial services, life sciences, energy, and retail partners. In close coordination with our significant national and international law enforcement partners, NCFTA serves as a hub for operational collaboration and the sharing of actionable threat intelligence.

As a Director of Cyber Resilience, I focused on organizational preparedness to address significant cyber and data privacy incidents. This included partnering with key business units on incident response, business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, and on educating a global workforce on the cyber threat landscape and their specific roles and responsibilities in maintaining a robust cybersecurity posture for the enterprise. In this role, I also led a Digital Forensics & Investigations team focused on insider risk, and a Cybersecurity eDiscovery team responsible for supporting litigation and regulatory production associated with litigation.

As a partner in the Data Privacy & Cyber Security practice group, I led the response to over 250 data privacy and cyber security incidents impacting organizations within various sectors. These time sensitive engagements were often the result of significant cyber attacks involving ransomware and/or unauthorized access to sensitive data including personal data, PII, PHI, and PCI and other sensitive "crown jewels" data. In addition to developing immediate containment and mitigation strategies for my clients, I also coordinated the engagement of additional forensics and notification experts and crafted all necessary legal and regulatory responses.

For more than two decades I had the privilege of serving as an FBI Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, Associate Division Counsel and Congressional Liaison. For three years prior to my retirement in 2017, I led a talented team of Special Agents, Intelligence Analysts, Computer Scientists, and other professional support staff in the FBI's Cyber Branch in New York City. There we aggressively investigated a host of financially motivated cyber crimes and schemes, hactivist activity, and other threats to our country's critical infrastructure.In other roles at the FBI, I served an Associate Division Counsel analyzing and providing guidance on complex issues of law and policy across all investigative programs. In Washington, D.C. I worked closely with several congressional committees as a Congressional Liaison, and was one of the attorneys who founded the FBI’s Cyber Law Unit (CyLU) in Chantilly, VA.

In 2016, while on assignment to the Cyber Division's Executive Staff Unit, I represented the FBI in a multi-agency effort to finalize a National Cyber Incident Response Plan (NCIRP). This plan established federal organizational roles and responsibilities in the national response to significant cyber incidents. This plan was built upon the framework laid out in President Policy Directive (PPD-41) on U.S. Cyber Incident Coordination, and included input from both the private sector and several levels of government. Executive approval of the NCIRP was obtained in January 2017.
