ShopNow) SpeedyClick was an entertainment-based website featuring contests, original content, web games, and eBay-style barter. SpeedyClick peaked with more than 20 million monthly visitors, with a 12.3 percent reach of women on the Internet, and more than 3 million registered users. In November 1999, Seattle-based ShopNow (later Network Commerce Inc.) acquired SpeedyClick for $50 million. At Network Commerce I was the lead on migrating from a Sun Microsystems centric hardware solution to a more scalable and flexible Intel / RedHat web and database server configuration leading to a savings of over $1,000,000 in hardware and software upgrade cost.
