I manage the day to day operations of Inside Out Group, supervising a wide range of works including Time Lapse, CCTV, Access Control, and Photography - for a spectrum of businesses including local councils, Network Rail, Siemens, etc.We're proud to have a team that can adapt and although we specialize in a number of brands and products, ultimately our skill is knowing the market and how we can create something that fits your business and your needs, at the right price point - even if it means we have the develop the product ourselves; in-house.

I lead a team of 5 engineers and creative individuals, tackling high-risk and challenging filming requirements including rail, construction & demolition, long term (over many years) as well as corporate and advertising films.We deal with global PLCs including many main contractors including Vinci, Network Rail, Laing O'Rourke, and a key part of my role is ensuring we are in line with their health & safety, and purchasing requirements. I liaise day to day with our larger group, organising engineers for our static camera installations, and allocating resources.As required, I assist the larger group with specialist technical networking requirements, large scale projects, and on site work as needed.

As the business progressed my role moved away from on-site work and into the more technical aspects of the business. I oversaw the IT side of the business working alongside the technical manager, managing and specifying our in-house servers to host our editing team of 4, our private 3G VPN network used for our time-lapse cameras.I extended my knowledge to specialise in networking, helping design, install and troubleshoot city-wide networks for rail and construction projects with challenging video data requirements.I also undertook specialist projects including a tight deadline migration to Office 365, in house deployment of websites and integration of a new company management platform (JobWatch.)

I assisted a larger engineering team in installation and call-outs for CCTV, access control, IT and electrical works.

Research & development of new experiments and practical sessions which involved liaison with staff, students, and occasionally exam boards.Construction of the experiments within health & safety guidelines, COSHH (hazardous substances) recommendations, and time constraints of teachers lessons & term timetables.Student support throughout the project stage of their course which involved not only providing practical construction help but also theoretical hints, examples and thought exercises to help them produce the best final project (all while staying within exam board guidelines.)Keeping track of consumable stock, ordering where appropriate and staying within budgets, and therefore basic price control where possible/relevant.Supporting other technicians and staff if required, even when outside of my particular area. This ranged from PAT testing during the summer, to ICT support and subject areas far outside of my training.
