In 2010, I took a position at DANK, a medical marijuana dispensary and cultivation start-up in Denver. My experience in professional consulting and hard work ethic helped elevate my career path at DANK and resulted in making DANK one of the most popular dispensaries in Colorado. Cultivating more than 40 strains of medical and adult-use cannabis under 6,000 square feet of indoor space, we are a vertically integrated, clone to dome facility that includes medical and adult-use stores. During my time with DANK, I worked hard to develop the company's first standard operating procedures, emergency operating procedures, employee manuals, and training manuals, all of which continue to be in use today. As a general manager, I lead the staff by example as I oversaw human resources, marketing, compliance, security, product acquisition, payroll, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, I was instrumental in the development of the DANK brand by designing logos, creating collateral, website content, and implementation of all social media platforms. With a keen eye for design, I ensured the DANK brand presented a consistent message and a cohesive brand identity. In 2014, our ownership group started a cannabis industry consulting group, DCG, and my time at DANK was restructured to phase out the day-to-day dispensary management and instead, focus my time on consulting with industry professionals. Realizing the value I provide to DANK's brand, I continue serving as the marketing director, managing the company website, social media platforms, seasonal promotions, industry blogs and customer outreach.

As one of the founding members of Denver Consulting Group (DCG), I was part of a core team of experts with a variety of proficiencies and business experience. For my part, I leveraged my lengthy experience in landscape architecture to develop the company written support documents made available to consulting projects around the U.S. It was a challenging time as we assisted startup cannabis companies meanwhile growing our own consulting company, and simultaneously managing our existing cannabis companies. My strength was written support documents. As the Lead Technical Writer, I learned to navigate complex code requirements with proficiency and integrated regulations into the business plan, standard operating procedures, employee manuals and application support. I created the content and presentations for DCG's educational series aimed at dispensary, cultivation and extraction employee education. I served numerous clients as technical support on competitive license applications, including New York, Maryland, Illinois, and Puerto Rico. As our group gained notoriety through networking, speaking engagements and successful license awards, we continually expanded our services to states across the nation, including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, California and Australia. A testament to our determination to provide quality support and experience in the cannabis industry, DCG was acquired by a publically held company, Medicine Man Technologies, to become a leading consulting agency in the market. Taking this as an opportunity to redirect my focus to DANK Dispensary, I stepped back from the consulting industry and returned to DANK to serve as the Director of Marketing, Compliance and Human Resources.

I was the sole proprietor of Morpho Landscape Architecture for four years serving residential clients along the front range in and around Boulder, Colorado. I leveraged my 15-years' experience in corporate development to provide landscape architecture design and construction administration services for residential, public and private development projects. During this period, I worked with many landscape contractors as an independent designer. I was a great time to sharpen my business experience. I had to wear many hats while being especially intuned with my client's needs and goals. Design at this level was enjoyable and satisfying as projects were quick to get built and results were immediate.

I left The Norris Design Company in 2008 to start a new path with a sustainable design firm in Boulder. It was a smart move as Shapins, LLC, was being acquired by an international resort planning and design firm, Belt Collins, LLC. The newly merged companies had sophisticated resort projects from around the globe and were somewhat buffered from the economic hardships that local firms experienced in 2008. Additionally, our clientele included federal and state land management agencies like the Forest Service, the Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). To date, the project for which I am most proud is the Quality Built Environment Guidelines for the BLM. It was a three-year project documenting the quality of BLM facilities and making recommendations on improving their image through quality design projects. Still in use today, I gained valuable experience in trail construction trailhead design, visitor centers, interpretive sites, and much more. Eventually, Shapins Belt Collins also suffered from the housing crash and closed their Boulder office after just two years. I landed on my feet after immediately staring my own design firm, Morpho Landscape Architecture.

I started employment with The Norris Dullea Company in 1994, just out of college. It was an exciting time to be with NDC as we layed the foundation for a company that continued to grow to over 130 employees in three states. As a core team member of telented professionals, we grew with the company and held positions of responsibility at an early age. Expereiencing massive growth in the development industry, NDC was a great place to gain experience in a wide variety of projects. I served as a Project Manager at a Senior Associate level. I completed multi-million dollar landscape projects that included community and regional parks, streeetscapes, entry features, trail networks and corporate headquarters and resorts. I was responsible in the development of technical specifications; design guidelines; covenents, codes and restrictions; and competitive proposals. I developed the first company computer standards and managed the company AutoCAD database with hundreds of construction details. I was a talented landscape architect with an interest in sustainable design, staff mentoring and construction observation. To my knowledge, I was the first LEED Accredited Landscape Architect in Colorado and worked with the local chapter to educate our colleges and the public about the USGBC program.
