Recruited by the owner of Insure All Agency to partner in and run “scratch” independent agency in Charlotte, NC, under the JJ Clark & Assoc name. Merged the Charlotte agency with Insure All in 2006, maintaining the JJ Clark & Assoc agency name. Responsible for the implementation of state-of-the-art agency management software, and maintained company infrastructure in conjunction with IT contractor (servers, computer hardware, software). Built, developed, and now manages the Commercial Lines department, which is part of $7M agency. Responsible for all commercial lines employees handling production, policy renewals, customer service, risk management, and all daily processes in the commercial department. Developed lasting relationships with the major accounts in the commercial department. Negotiated all appointments with national carriers for the agency, including Travelers, Hartford, Erie, Philadelphia, and Builders Mutual.

Joined the team at Raleigh, NC insurance agency to implement systems and processes for improving agency efficiency and production. Changes included new client management techniques, agency information flow, proactive advertising, and producing-agent time management. Also held duties as producing agent for both Personal and Commercial Lines. Agency realized a 70% increase in monthly sales by end of year one (2004).

Hired by well established home-improvement company to run all aspects of the production department. Replaced the existing three-man production management team by personally overseeing all job assignment, troubleshooting, job completion, customer service, warranty, and contractor payroll duties for the twelve-crew operation. Achieved maximum profitability from the production department, and eliminated customer litigation issues that had escalated prior to my tenure.

Co-founder of asset management firm in Charlotte, NC, with departments specializing in insurance, securities, and venture capital. Originally responsible for building insurance division, which encompassed basic life insurance, portfolio analysis, and retirement planning. Developed the insurance division into profitable entity under the umbrella of the management firm. Handed off the insurance division to sub-agent, and assumed the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of the entire firm. Cooridinated efforts of the venture capital and securities departments through meetings with CEO and department heads. Additionally responsible on a daily basis for customer accounts, order entry, and stock analysis for the securities trading room. Diligent student of both fundamental and technical trading techniques.

Joined existing one-man operation as real estate agent. Was made a part owner of the firm after expanding the business to include the efforts of ten sub-agents. Totally dominated the Department of Housing & Urban Development repo market in both Raleigh, NC and Las Vegas, NV. Managed the activities of the sub-agents, coordinated the agency’s operations (including advertising and sales), and still maintained “first chair” agent status.
