Jay has successfully litigated cases in Florida’s state and federal courts. Jay has also had the opportunity to appear before Florida’s Fifth District Court of Appeal and state and federal courts in Georgia. Samples of successful verdicts and settlements are located on the Spohrer & Dodd website.Jay’s professional affiliations include the Florida Bar, the United States Middle District of Florida, the United States Northern District of Florida; The Florida Bar Association, Trial Lawyers Section; the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice; the Florida Justice Association; the Jacksonville Justice Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association. Jay is also scheduled to sit for the July, 2008 Georgia Bar exam.In addition to his J.D., Jay holds a B.A. from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania and an M.A. from McDaniel College, Westminster, Maryland.Jay is also an adjunct professor for the Legal Studies Department at Florida Community College at Jacksonville. He and his wife Holly (Florida Coastal alumna and attorney with the law firm of Wicker, Smith, O’Hara, McCoy & Ford, P.A.) reside in the intracoastal area of Jacksonville, Florida. He and Holly currently have no children, but have managed to acquire a small zoo of two cats and two dogs.
