Hired by a leading Midwest private equity firm as CFO. Agri-Carriers Group transports bulk liquid food products such as soybean oil, tropical oils, yeast, flour, vinegar, and corn syrup on behalf of the nation’s largest grain processing companies to food manufacturing plants throughout the Midwest and Southeast U.S.

Recruited to lead the financial side of this cross-border truckload carrier out of a complex bankruptcy to a successful sale of the company. Responsible for all areas of finance/cash management and provided strategic guidance to operations.

Hired initially on an interim basis to turn around this underperforming company. Owned primarily by two venture capital investors, Plan Express was an asset heavy reprographer to the construction industry. Along with the CEO of the company I helped to develop a new business model that reduced cost, increased asset utilization, and changed the company to an asset light technology heavy internet service provider to the construction industry. Responsibility includes the day-to-day management of all accounting functions and financial statements

Brought in by investors to lead the financial side of this start-up entity.

$95 million van / refrigerated truckload carrier); Hired to oversee general accounting, financial planning, analysis, reporting and treasury functions in a turnaround situation. A member of the executive team with extensive involvement in strategic planning as well as aspects of sales, operations, safety and maintenance. Direct and provide guidance to the Controller, Accounting Manager and administrative support staff. Serve as key contact with banks and lending institutions and manage all banking relationships.

$115 million van / flatbed truckload companies); Brought on board to turnaround the flatbed division and change the strategic direction of the companies. Accountable for financial statements, taxes, budget, forecasting, cost analysis, cash management, banking relations and risk management.

$185 million retailer of manufactured homes); Recruited to complete a roll-up IPO with eight other companies. Hired and trained staff and upgraded financial infrastructure to meet the requirements of a publicly traded company. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, financial accounting, management and business metrics reporting, tax, treasury and all general accounting functions.

$40 million flatbed truckload carrier); Hired to convert manual accounting system to a computerized system and bring all accounting functions in-house. Responsible for bringing structure and process to the functional areas of treasury, cash management, banking, taxes, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting, budgeting and financial reporting. Managed a staff of ten.
