In my master's degree, I undertook a 9-month research project in the Hudson Monash Paediatric Precision Medicine Program (HMPPMP), part of the Centre for Cancer Research at the Hudson Institute. My research project sought to identify the metabolic dependencies within a rare and malignant paediatric brain tumours known as Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumours (ATRT). In this research project, I employed a novel pharmacological agent, IACS-010759, to identify differential metabolic states in ATRT. Throughout the course of this research project, I developed diverse research and computational skills, including:- Cell culture maintenance and exploitation- Solo and combinatory drug viability curves- Western blot- PI FACS- Degust- cBioPortal, PedcBioPortal, and Depmap- Data analysis and graphical visualisation in Excel and GraphPad PrismIn addition, this research project has fostered a professional capacity to present both orally and written research findings to diverse audiences of varied scientific disciplines and backgrounds.
