As an ED Tech, or what riverside refers to as a “PCA” I Assess patients when they arrive in the emergency room and triage them. This includes taking vitals and checking them in to the ER/ED.My duties also include lab work that results in collectingvarious specimens and establishing IV’s. splint/cast if needed.Overall, I assist nurses and doctors by getting supplies and medical instruments as needed during their evaluations.

I worked as a support tech in the CT imaging department where I prepare the imaging room and equipment for x-rayprocedures, which includes but is not limited to physically putting the patients on the CT table and lining them up to scan, Pushing, Pulling, lifting, carrying, assisting and/or Transporting patients. I answer any questions that patients may have aboutthe procedure itself. My duties also tend to include data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records assisted with the procedures.

I worked with patients under the direct orders of doctors and/or nurses. My job is to assist the patient and guarantee their safety based on their specific risks. I notify the care team of changes in the patient's health and document the patterns of the patient every 15 to 30 minutes based on their respective risk—Some could be identified as Fall Risks, Suicidal, homicidal, inmates, and overall behavioral health. I also (with explicit permission) take vitals, change patients, and assist the nurse in variousways that a CNA would. When not assigned to aid one specific patient, I stand by in the Emergency Department of the hospital to watch multiple patients while also acting as an extra set of hands in the event of an emergency is ensued or basic life support is required.
