I am a second year at Virginia Tech studying Animal and Poultry Science aspiring to be a veterinarian. As a veterinarian, I hope to educate clients on their pet’s medical needs such as preventative care as well as overall health. I feel that with this I am able to improve efficiency and increase the amount of awareness for pet health and preventative we have today. Besides these skills, I have volunteered at my local church helping with child care and teaching children of all ages. In this, I have used skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and what it means to give back during my time volunteering.Activities I joined at Virginia Tech include the lacrosse intramural club where I assisted the president in brainstorming new drills and possible events. I also joined a STEM sorority called Alpha Omega Epsilon where I get to be involved with service and professional events to further my career. Relating more to my major, I have joined the pre-vet club where I gained a plethora of information relating to vet school and specific medical cases seen in the vet world. With these experiences, I feel that I am able to exemplify skills learned in my studies and other activities to further my career path. I am determined, motivated, and use critical thinking skills in order to solve problems.
