This Positions requires great time management. My responsibility as a production planner is to Every morning when I log into my computer and check my emails and Daily orders that the company has received for the accounts I plan such as Dillard’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, etc. We use a program where customers submit orders weekly with requested delivery dates alongside them. When we do have any issues, we are constantly communicating with sales/ Customers through email (Microsoft office 365). I also use many tools such excel to keep track of orders that have been planned such as dates they came in, when the order is planned, and expectancy to ship. The planning process consists of a lot of repetition. Every morning, I am checking my accounts to see what weekly orders have been submitted by certain customers. Starting the planning process you first are going to see what amount of goods can be planned versus the amount they ordered. If the full quantity of goods that they ordered cannot be planned at 100% we contact sales through email. When contacting sales it consists of different divisions (DKD, BUR, D2M, D2K, etc..). Depending on the division you will contact certain sales associates. In this email it will consist of the PO number (order number), the start and ship date, and screenshots of shortages (goods that cannot be planned). After this email has been sent you will wait for a response to “plan and cancel” which gives you the approval to plan the goods that you can and cancel goods that cannot be planned. Once the order has been planned, you will send out your planning report by email to HR, Shipping and the supervisor who is responsible for having the order picked on the floor. This email will contain the start ship date, the cancel date, the routing date (certain accounts have different routing requirements), the number of boxes that will be on the order, the building that the order will be worked and shipped from.
