Jaylene Johnson is a dynamic performing songwriter and strong cowriter, working with producers and artists across genres. She coaches songwriting individually and via group workshops, and she also consults with artists having a profound knack for helping them discover the kind of artists they want to be and carve a path to realize their artistic and industry goals.If you watch television, you’ve probably heard her music. With a knack for weaving the scenes of life into beautiful and catchy songs, Jaylene has had success landing music licenses for major network television shows (including Degrassi: The Next Generation; Being Erica; Pretty Little Liars). This has allowed her music to reach across borders and into the homes of an international demographic. Her placements on “Pretty Little Liars” have garnered some significant attention on YouTube, with fans using clips from the show set to her songs. She signed a co-publishing deal with Casablanca Media Publishing (Now Red Brick Songs) for 2007-2008. Since then she has written hundreds of songs and released two new albums (Happiness and Wish-EP). She’s toured Western and Eastern Canada solo and with indies Cat Jahnke and Sheena Grobb, and played keyboard for Eagle and Hawk at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. A passionate and multifaceted singer, Jaylene's “undeniably angelic pipes” (Uptown Magazine) deliver “songs that make you listen more closely” (CD Baby) and cut straight to the emotional “heart of the matter”.Jaylene's writing (prose and lyrics) has also appeared in two books published by saint benedict's table press: Beautiful Mercy and In Days to Come. Additionally, she served on the Manitoba Music board of directors from 2006-2013.
