Artist

Leamington Spa

At Kwalee, I had the chance to grow and diversify as an artist, having a rare chance to really develop skills in a number of areas. My skill-set is far more broader thanks to extensive training and experience and also more fine tuned towards making (but not limited to) mobile games in particular. I started with the company in 2011 and was a part of the main development team(s) since the beginning, having a fair number of published and current in-development titles under my belt under the title of 'Artist'. I have developed extensive experience working in Unity and using NGUI to create and implement slick looking User Interface's. I also have some experience of more extensive features within the engine such as light-baking, shader application and camera work. I have experienced several full game development cycles and have worked within an art department, and as an individual artist/many on various development teams. I have been a mentor to junior artists and have experience with helping manage art outsourcing. I have developed excellent networking skills - creating a professional relationship with Warwickshire College - resulting in developing a unique games art course. I have also taken part in life drawing classes and drawing days to better hone my skills as an artist. My best skills lie in 2D with my extensive experience in traditional principles and concept art - allowing me to create excellent 2D game ready assets, including UI. I have a passion for creating unique and interesting characters and environments & have an in-depth understanding for light, form, and composition. At Kwalee, I became proficient with task management, making sure to track progress regularly and meet goals efficiently.
