I've been involved for more than 26 years in the development, strategic application, and marketing of Machine Translation and Artificial Intelligence for some of the world's leading language service providers and language technology companies. In these positions I've had the honor of leading wonderful teams of computational linguists, programmers, and MT & AI specialists during the rapid adoption of automation in the translation workflow. Recently, I've been focused on increasing the understanding of these technologies among language professionals. Amid rapid technology-driven changes in language services, some things haven't changed: deep understanding and clear thinking and communication about these technologies are critical to their effective application.
