Chapter 3: At age 19, I thought for myself for the first time. I left my six-figure tech job, dropped out of college, and took my fate into my own hands by founding Paragon Tech. Best decision of my life. Over a decade later, we've grown substantially and evolved to focus on helping lawyers take advantage of the best and most easy-to-use technology to run better firms and create a culture of high-performance and profitable clients.Lesson learned: A clear target and methodical, deliberate activity over a long period of time yields results.

I met some lifelong friends while driving business opportunities and facilitating relationship-building for others. Lesson learned: Your relationships are the sum of the effort you put into them. Select wisely, and invest heavily.

If joining one board is good... Two must be great.Lesson learned: Don't commit to something unless you can put your all into it. I could have done more.

I heard joining a board was a good idea. "All successful people are part of a board". Met great people. Cemented my network. Got involved in the community that raised me. Overall positive experience.Joining a board that puts on one of the largest in-person festivals in the country at the beginning of Covid might be the most insane thing I've ever done. Talk about a growth chapter.Lesson learned: Giving back is highly rewarding, but local politics can be both necessary and messy.

Chapter 2:Big boy job. As a gamer growing up, this was THE place we all bought our computer components from. Minimum age requirement of 18. Showed up for the interview on my 18th birthday. (Of course suit and tie, thanks again Dad) Also hired on the spot. Making six-figures as a teenager was great. Fun job initially. Hated it towards the end. Either way, I honed my tech skills while diagnosing computer hardware and software issues and providing consultation to local businesses looking to scale their infrastructure. Lesson learned: Money is only meaningful under the right circumstances.

Chapter 1: I scored my first Job. Showed up to the interview in full suit and tie. (Thanks Dad) Hired on the spot. Started stocking shelves part-time and quickly convinced management to move me into hardware and software computer repair. Had the BEST boss of all time: John Gordon. He held me accountable but was ALWAYS fair. Lesson learned: I had a skill set that I could monetize.
